Equine therapy, also known as Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT), is a treatment that includes equine activities and/or an equine environment in order to promote physical, occupational, and emotional growth in persons suffering from various health problems. Equine therapy can help the individual build emotional awareness, social skills, impulse control, confidence, trust and empathy and strengthen problem solving skills.
Horses have become popular to use in animal therapy because they give immediate feedback to the handler or rider’s actions. Since horses have similar behavior with humans, such as social and responsive behaviors, it is easy for the patients to create a connection with the horse.

Sophia Sunshine supports research towards a cure for DIPG.
DIPG is a horrific diagnosis that no child, no family, should ever have to know.
Since DIPG is such a rare form of pediatric brain cancer, little is actually known about it. Funds for more scientific research are needed.
Childhood Cancer research receives just 4% of the annual budget from the National Institutes of Health.
Now imagine how little goes towards DIPG… We need your help.
